What is the 8 point lift?

Facial enhancement and revitalisation have moved beyond wrinkle reduction and surgical facelifts to an approach that subtly rejuvenates patients appearances . It is extremely important that the facial aesthetician has excellent anatomical knowledge to tailor a personalised treatment plan for each patient to achieve the natural look. It targets areas of the mid face to lift, contour and revitalise the whole mid face and lower face. The 8 point lift was developed and pioneered by the world famous plastic surgeon Dr Mauricio De Maio using the new Vycross collection of Juvederm Dermal fillers.

However, it doesn't have to be 8 points, just as little or as many as needed to create the desired look.

Why the Juvederm Vycross range of products?

Vycross products are the latest innovation in the Juvederm range. These products contain hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring component in the skin. It attracts and holds water to provide hydration, structure and volume. As we age the levels of hyaluronic acid in our skin declines. The reason Juvederm Vycross products are so special is that they last longer and are not broken down as quickly. In addition they draw more water in to the skin, hence plump more youthful skin is produced.

There are four products in the Vycross range:

Volux: restores volume in chin and jawline
Voluma: restores volume in the cheeks, chin, temples and jawlines
Volbella: for enhancement of lips
Volift: designed for deeper lines and wrinkles including nose to mouth lines and sad lines. Also great in lips.

Dr Dil's advice on 8 point lift

I always say to my patients that facial enhancement is a journey and treatment plans are always evolving according to needs and budget. In my opinion if you are on a budget, patients will benefit most from replacing lost cheek volume. This not only enhances the mid face, but it also improves the appearances of the “nose to mouth lines” and ” sad lines”. This statement is obviously subject to individual facial assessment and consultation. Using small volumes of dermal fillers in 8 points (more or less, depending in the clients needs), can achieve subtle facial enhancement, helping you look and feel your best.

Bespoke treatment planning would be carried out so the number of points would correspond to achieveing a rested and healthy look. You would look like the best version of YOU.

The Medished process

What happens during my appointment?

A 30 minute consultation to discuss medical history and what you’d like to achieve
Photographs of the treatment areas so we can plan treatment and monitor results
Local anaesthetic cream can be used to increase comfort
Dermal filler injected into skin via fine gauge (27-31G) needle
Injection sites massaged to promote even integration into tissue
Tissue expansion associated with slight burning / stinging sensation
10 days
Results can last 6 - 18 months

Aftercare (first 12 hours)

DO NOT apply make-up or creams for at least 6 hours
DO gently massage the treatment areas for up to 2 weeks to avoid unevenness
Don’t fly for the first 12 hours
Do not exercise for the first 12 hours
Do not drink alcohol for the first 12 hours
DO NOT expose the treatment areas to extreme heat (eg sunbeds / sauna) for at least 2 weeks, as this may affect product durability
Try staying upright for the first 3 hours

How long will it take?

Most procedures can be completed within 30 minutes to 45 minutes

Is it painful?

Some patients may experience a mild stinging or burning sensation as the product is injected. This is reduced significantly by application of a local anaesthetic cream prior to treatment.

How long will the results last?

Treatment result last between 6-18 months, depending on a variety of factors such as product type, area injected, degree of correction, age, skin type and lifestyle.
